Jordan Brand is turning to vintage athletic apparel to give one of its most iconic silhouettes a material overhaul. The upcoming Air Jordan 3 “Sports Renaissance” blends classic retro leather construction with asymmetrical color blocking and soft-goods textile swaps inspired by the vintage collegiate sweat suits of the late 1980s and 1990s.
The base is built around a darkish-blue “Obsidian” tumbled leather upper, grounded by traditional navy elephant print overlays wrapping the toe cap and heel counter. However, the color layout diverges dramatically from there: the left shoe incorporates pink and red pops across the eyelets, collar, heel tab and outsole pods, while the right shoe shifts those identical zones into shades of light and royal blue.
