Gotta snap ’em all! In one of the most exciting crossover drops of the year, Polaroid and Pokémon are officially joining forces to celebrate 30 years of the iconic franchise with an extensive lineup of custom analog gear that’s sure to remind you of your childhood if you grew up in the 1990s or 2000s like myself.

Marking Polaroid’s largest collaborative effort to date, the limited-edition collection blends retro instant photography with the colorful world of Pokémon, capturing nostalgic collectors and casual shooters alike. The drop puts custom hardware, specialized instant film and travel accessories into the hands of fans, making this an instant collectible, in my opinion.

Poké Balls, Pikachu, and Custom Film Frames

The centerpiece of the collaboration is a trio of custom-styled instant cameras:

  • Polaroid Now Generation 3 (Poké Ball Edition): The full-sized flagship camera wrapped in a red, white, and black Poké Ball color scheme ($140 USD).
  • Polaroid Go Generation 3 (Pikachu & Sylveon Editions): Compact, pocket-sized instant cameras decked out in bright yellow for Pikachu and soft pastel hues for Sylveon.

Highlighting the collaborative ethos, Mathieu Galante, Licensing Senior Director at The Pokémon Company International, noted: “Pokémon has always been about discovery, connection, and exploration. Working with Polaroid feels like a natural extension of these values: encouraging fans to capture moments that matter most to them in their own way and turn their favourite memories into tangible keepsakes.”
