- Toys vs. Tech Plot: The fifth installment introduces “Lilypad” (voiced by Greta Lee), an addictive frog-themed kids’ tablet that threatens classic playtime.

As much as I’ve enjoyed going to the theater this year, I am happy that I get to start watching some of these films in the comfort of my own home. The next movie on my watchlist? Toy Story 5, which officially lands on home digital platforms today, August 18.
This time around, viewers catch up with Andy’s former crew adjusting to life in Bonnie’s room (voiced by Scarlett Spears). With Woody (Tom Hanks) having departed at the close of Toy Story 4, Jessie (Joan Cusack) has stepped up to lead the room—though both Woody and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) rejoin the gang for this new chapter.

The drama kicks off as Bonnie struggles to make friends at school. Hoping to help her fit in, her parents buy her a Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee)—a trendy, frog-shaped kids’ tablet that rapidly captures her full attention.
As Lilypad becomes Bonnie’s undisputed favorite, the room’s classic toy hierarchy is thrown into chaos, leaving Jessie to question whether traditional playtime has a future. Along their journey to win back Bonnie’s imagination, the crew encounters a hilarious assortment of smart tech toys.
