A look at the LeBron James Mercedes Maybach custom

LeBron James Unveils Bespoke Maybach S 680 Featuring Custom Akron Coordinates

  • Pebble Beach Reveal: Mercedes-Maybach and LeBron James have officially revealed a pair of ultra-exclusive Maybach S 680s crafted via the MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure program.
  • Dual-Build Mission: One vehicle goes straight to LeBron’s personal collection, while its near-identical twin will be auctioned to directly benefit the LeBron James Family Foundation.
  • Historic Badge First: Marks the first time in Mercedes-Maybach history that the traditional factory V12 fender badge has been replaced with a personalized emblem—featuring LeBron’s signature crown logo.

One thing about LBJ—he’s going to have a pretty damn nice car. James, of course, has been immersed in automotive culture since his teens, and his latest adventure is a pretty neat one. The newest member of the Philadelphia 76ers is partnering directly with Mercedes-Maybach on a pair of deeply personal, one-of-a-kind flagships. Unveiled as a featured attraction during Pebble Beach Automotive Week, this unprecedented Mercedes Maybach S 680s collaboration brings together the brand’s highest level of engineering with bespoke touches celebrating King James’ basketball legacy, personal brand, and Northeast Ohio origins.

The features, you ask? For starters, the vehicle sports an exterior finished in a soft MANUFAKTUR light ivory non-metallic paint. But there is something else at play here. The luxury brand also agreed to swap out its traditional factory V12 badge in favor of a custom emblem featuring James’ iconic crown, giving the vehicle its own personal touch.

Additional features include:

  • Stormy Weather Blue Interior: Draped in rich “Stormy Weather” Nappa leather complemented by porcelain contrast stitching.
  • Bespoke Branding: Crown logos and LeBron’s signature are embroidered directly into the headrests, plush throw cushions, and floor mats.
  • Hometown Homage: Discreet interior plaques and door sill plates are laser-engraved with the exact geographical coordinates of his hometown in Akron, Ohio.

Driving Change for the I PROMISE Foundation

But, there’s a charitable component at play here as well. While Bron is keeping one in his personal garage, the near-identical second build was created with a philanthropic mission. The twin S 680 will hit the auction block later this year, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the LeBron James Family Foundation to support educational, housing, and career initiatives for students and families in Akron.

Final auction schedules, bidding guidelines and pre-sale estimates for the charity build will be announced by Mercedes-Benz in the coming months.

Gotta love a banger that also serves a good cause.
