In the introduction to this series, I told you that I would provide examples of people who are anti-Michael Jackson, and how those who defend Jackson are treated by them. When I wrote that, I was in the midst of daily harassment (literally) myself, and wanted to get the word out. Now, over a year later (at the time of this writing), I’m so far removed from this group that I almost didn’t care enough to write this. But…I promised, and while I’ve been able to successfully overcome this group’s derailment, other people who defend Jackson have further been doxed, stalked, had certain individuals try to get them fired…certain people send dead rats to their home (not joking), and have been seriously affected by this group and their actions.
Let me make one thing clear —I’m not “afraid” of anybody in that group. My identity is “known”, I dare them to call me, and I double dare them to try and step to me in person and see how that works out for them. Come to my home, and you’ll be greeted by my wonderful dogs who especially love hostile strangers. That said, some people have been successfully scared and intimidated by this group, and it’s those people who I fight for. The short story of this is, I’ve been to the police and have begun the process of legal consultation twice (specifically as it pertained to one individual, whom you’ll soon see).
The first time I sought out legal counsel, the individual in question wound up getting his account suspended. I suspected they would return under a new account, however, and when they did, I sought legal advice again. When it became clear, however, that I was serious about progressing this matter, this individual scarily deactivated their account because they are nothing but a keyboard warrior. Nonetheless, this person harassed me multiple times daily, stole and altered pictures from my social media, and even went as far as to harass my friends, family, and associates on their respective accounts or whenever they would interact with me. It even got to the point where I had to quit interacting with my family, friends, etc. on my social media accounts to protect them from regular harassment themselves. Aside from that, here are some of the other things that have been done to me by this group:
1). They said (and still do say) I’m not a real journalist and that I lied about my credentials. That obviously isn’t true. You can look up my name (Jael Rucker) and see the documented outlets I have worked for and the interviews I have conducted over the years.
Exhibit A:

2). Speaking of my name, they said I lied about that (seriously).

3). They also tried to get me fired from my old publications. Funnily enough, that was my inspiration for starting the Decked Out website in the first place. At no point were they ever successful in doing anything close to getting me fired from my publications, but the attempts alone made me realize the importance of ownership and independence. So, in December 2025, I officially walked away from being a journalist for other outlets, and decided to start my own publication. And not to toot my own horn, we’ve accomplished quite a bit to still be less than a year old (like interviewing Nia Long and Antoine Fuqua for the Michael biopic). Best of all, if anybody has a problem with anything written, guess who they have to report to? That would be me (cue Whitney Houston smiling on Diane Sawyer).
Additional examples:

This report that was linked did not once ever mention myself or the series. This was a blatant lie.

This person is also somebody who attempted to get me fired, by the way.

This is where this individual stole from my content. I obviously never said that…this person manipulated that picture, caption, and my words.

Now, as I said before, once this person realized I was serious about legal action and deactivated their account, the stance of certain people who had previously encouraged them changed, and they began trying to distance themselves. Here’s an example:

Now, let’s move on to the others:

Okay so…I wound up actually confronting this person (who is a moderator of that sub) because everything they were complaining about as far as “misinformation” was actually a result of them being misinformed:

Moving along, we also have this:

This individual continuously goes through my tweets (they literally proved it with that Reddit post), which is something they really shouldn’t be doing or seeing because I’m supposed to be “irrelevant” to them.
This one too:

Another one:

More disturbingly, however, there seems to be an unhealthy obsession when it comes to Michael Jackson with many of the individuals in this group in a way that I can only describe as a Yolanda/Selena type of relationship, where they very well may be huge fans of Jackson but have this sick hatred where they probably would have had to be arrested if they had ever gotten anywhere near the vicinity of him. The same type of obsession that has led to countless “fans” of celebrities being arrested for trying to break into insert name’s house, or stalking insert name, or trying to shoot/attack insert name.
Just look at how excited some of them were about the biopic:

Mind you, one of these individuals is a literal moderator on their subreddit, and many diehard Jackson fans don’t even have the DVD for the movie. In fact, most that do actually have it as a collector’s item…
And let’s not get started on the people they’ve sent over to this platform (some of whom have very badly pretended to be genuinely interested in learning more about this case or Jackson in general) to try their nonsense out here. You can scroll through the comments on my last article to see where I busted somebody who originally tried reaching out to me as a “curious fan” on X, only to come on here a couple of days later with a completely different stance…and the exact same links they had previously DM’d me.
Oh, and that’s not even counting the unprovoked mentions on places like Lipstick Alley:

They don’t know my numbers for the articles or what the book has done so far in pre-sales, and they never will. But they are “piss poor” enough to have already gotten me on a number of lists on Amazon despite the book not even being out yet.
Some recent examples (the book hasn’t even come out yet, by the way. Plus, this only for Kindle pre-orders, not the other formats that will be released):

I could keep going, but as I said earlier, I am completely over them and their antics. Mind you, they still lie on and talk about me quite regularly, and the funniest thing is when they claim I said something I didn’t say, or claim I didn’t cover something when I did, because they actually have not thoroughly read through my work.
But I’m no longer addressing (and after this I’m not addressing them anymore period) those things because those who have engaged with my work know exactly what I’ve said and what I haven’t, and what I’ve covered, and even as recently as a couple of weeks ago, when somebody who had actually engaged with the series hit back that I actually had done something they claimed I hadn’t, the only response this person had was that I wasn’t qualified to talk about this case because I didn’t actually work on it (like…as an investigator).
Well…they didn’t either. So if I’m not qualified, then neither are they. See how that works?
Before I end this, however, I would like to take it back to the comment the moderator left me on Medium requesting that I take the article down there.

Let’s go through this one-by-one.
1). This moderator tries to present this as being *only* criticism of my work, but let’s take a look at this statement:

Now, does this look like it was kept solely to criticism of my work, or does it look like the moderator not only took a jab at me, but a jab at my parents (one of whom is deceased…the message RIP Dad” is on all of my profiles, and my X banner is a photo of my dad and me) as well? Looks like the latter, doesn’t it? That leads me to this:

2). A common theme amongst this group is to say I lie, spew misinformation, etc., but they oddly never seem to have actual real examples that they can provide of where I’ve done this. Now, let’s go back to the message sent me:

She says she fact-checked my article, but the screenshots were of me rebutting her “fact-checking,” and at no point did she provide anything that shows my fact-checking of her “fact-checking” was wrong. In fact, her only complaint seems to be that I didn’t link back to the actual Reddit post, which makes it seem like her only concern is getting clicks out of it. Furthermore, she publicly admits to mockery. Well…mockery isn’t just a form of harassment, but it’s also a form of cyberbullying, and if you’ve been following cyberbullying rules and updates, many places have tightened up their legislation/laws, and what these individuals have done to me (and others) could be punishable by fines, through misdemeanor charges, etc. Now, what the moderator will probably tell you is that I recently had some not-so-nice things to say to them. That is true, but that only came after yet another unprovoked lie on my work/character after two years of constant stalking and attacks, not on just me, but on other individuals in my life. So, yes, I did snap. I did say everything they said I did, but…they’ve set their Reddit up to have comments manually approved by them, and they did not approve my comments; therefore, it did not show. On top of that, the person who misrepresented my words went on to delete her post, which isn’t a good look.
3). Remember how I told you they’ve said I’m not a real journalist and lied about credentials despite my resume saying otherwise? Well, look at what she calls me:

There goes another confirmation!
4). Oh, and while she tried to say that the harassment didn’t come from their sub, ALL of the aforementioned individuals are or have been a part of their sub at some point, including this VividVocal character, who not only has participated, but they have also given shoutouts to. Furthermore, this moderator was connected with not just VividVocal’s main account, but also the secondary account he created when his first was suspended.

The last thing I’ll say is that I have even more damning evidence against this group, but that’s with my lawyer in case we ever need to pick this back up.
Nonetheless, I’ve kept the promise I made to eventually reveal some of what they’ve done to me. As for what they have done to others, that’s those individuals’ stories to tell, but you can only imagine how much crazier this whole thing gets.
I also fully anticipate that they will try to negative review bomb my book, and if I had to guess the route they more than likely will go, I think they will probably make a post on Reddit with the book title so that way it shows up in search results, and despite not having read a single word of it, they’ll have a bunch of guesses as to what they think I wrote.
Hell, they may even be desperate enough to actually buy the book just so they can leave a negative review, but at least they will have donated to a charity Michael Jackson supported in his lifetime.
Hallelujah.
