Just as the global marketing machine for Antoine Fuqua’s MICHAEL reaches a fever pitch, New York City is getting a dedicated space to touch history. Here’s the deal—Next weekend, Complex NY will be hosting what they describe as being an immersive art gallery pop-up dedicated to the MICHAEL movie.

Here is what you need to know ahead of the event.

The Film Props & Visual Art

While the full contents of the gallery are being kept under wraps, the collaboration is focused squarely on the film’s production.

  • The ‘Michael’ Aesthetic: Attendees can expect a first-hand look at the visual world created for the biopic.
  • The Jaafar Connection: With Jaafar Jackson taking on the lead role, the gallery serves as a bridge between the historical legacy and the 2026 cinematic portrayal.
  • Exclusive Access: Fans who visit the NoHo location will likely be among the first to see specific production details and curated imagery that hasn’t been released in the trailers, as Complex states via their announcement that photos and props will be included in the activation as well.

Additionally, artist Dimithry Victor will create one custom piece that draws inspiration from Jackson’s biggest hits, which Complex says include “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough” and “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’.”

How to Visit

The gallery is located at 620 Broadway—one block north of Houston Street on the edge of NoHo.

  • First-Come, First-Served: The event is open to the public. Given the massive interest in the Michael film and the central Broadway location, expect significant lines throughout the weekend.
  • The Hours:
    • Friday, April 3: 11 AM – 7 PM
    • Saturday, April 4: 11 AM – 7 PM
    • Sunday, April 5: 11 AM – 4 PM

Transit Tip: The Broadway-Lafayette/Bleecker St. station (6, B, D, F, M) is said to be the closest, putting you less than a block away from the entrance.

The Bottomline

If you’re in New York, this is the definitive pre-release event. It’s the closest you can get to the film’s production before the Early Access IMAX screenings begin on April 22nd.
