Marvel had themselves a time at D23, didn’t they? While Doomsday may have dominated the conversation, James Spader’s Ultron got in on the chatter as well. During the event, Disney+ and Marvel Studios showcased the first official trailer for VisionQuest, which itself will conclude the WandaVision trilogy era.
You may be wondering what the attendees learned, so let’s break it down further.

The teaser kicks off with Paul Bettany’s White Vision attempting to blend into everyday humanity, working quietly as a pub bartender while trying to piece together his fragmented past with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). Rather than physically traversing the world, the synthezoid retreats into a hidden digital universe within his own mind, confronting lost memories and the existential weight of his artificial identity. The biggest shock, however, is the return of James Spader as the menacing rogue AI Ultron. Spader isn’t the only familiar voice returning—James D’Arcy also reprises his role as J.A.R.V.I.S., appearing as a protective digital presence cautioning Vision against giving his chaotic creator a second chance.
So… who’s back? The cast list is as follows:
- Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.
- Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y.
- T’nia Miller as Jocasta
- Ruaridh Mollica portraying an adult version of Tommy Maximoff
In other Marvel D23 news, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell were in the building to preview Doomsday. The clip kicks off with Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) warning Earth’s remaining heroes, but what instantly grabbed my attention were the hyper-detailed shots of Doctor Doom’s villainous new armor. From there, the tension spikes fast—we see a brutal face-off between Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) and Doom amidst standing rubble, leading right into Thor (Chris Hemsworth) warning Doom that he’s about to regret everything.
Per Marvel’s official synopsis, Avengers: Doomsday tells the story of heroes from three universes who are, “set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.”
Excited for VisionQuest? So are we.
It officially premieres October 14, 2026, on Disney+.
