Spider-Man week means it’s time to cop some new bling. Citizen is taking a surprisingly subtle approach to its latest superhero collaboration. The new Citizen Spider-Man Swings timepiece puts Marvel’s flagship wall-crawler on the wrist, but trades loud primary colors for a sophisticated, dark monochrome finish.

Rather than relying on flat digital prints, however, the brand brought in veteran Marvel comic artist Adam Kubert to design original artwork directly for the dial. The result is an embossed scene showing Spider-Man mid-flight above a detailed New York City skyline, bringing real dimensional texture to the watch face.

Technical Specs and Fan-Focused Details

While the gray ion-plated stainless steel 43mm case gives the watch a rugged, understated aesthetic on the wrist, the dial comes alive under low-light conditions thanks to specialized luminous treatments:

• Luminous 3D Webbing: Spider-Man’s web-lines use raised, glow-in-the-dark compound that pops off the dial when the lights drop.
• THWIP Caseback Engraving: Flipping the watch over reveals a custom caseback featuring the iconic sound effect from Spidey’s web-shooters.
• Utility & Resistance: Guarded by mineral crystal, the face includes a date window at 3 o’clock and 100 meters (10 bar) of water resistance.

Solar Tech Meets Collector Appeal

Under the hood, Citizen’s proprietary Eco-Drive J810 movement drives the three-hand layout. Because the internal cell recharges under both natural sunlight and artificial indoor lighting, wearers never have to worry about replacing a battery or setting time after weeks off the wrist.
