You get the Amble One, a doorless, street-legal electric buggy intended to redefine short-distance travel. Developed by Portuguese mobility startup Amble, the sub-450kg machine originally started as a conceptual alternative to golf carts for high-end resorts, but quickly evolved into an L7e heavy quadricycle engineered for road-legal use, deliberately stripping away doors and side panels to create a completely open relationship between passengers and their environment.

Rather than leaning into futuristic aerodynamic swoops, the vehicle takes visual cues from NASA’s 1971 Apollo lunar rover, blended with the functional silhouette of an original Series I Land Rover and a vintage Ford Bronco.

Under the floorboards sits a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery feeding a 15kW rear-wheel-drive motor. While European L7e quadricycle rules allow speeds up to 56mph, engineers intentionally capped top speed at 40mph to maximize low-end torque. That tuning gives the lightweight frame the ability to scale steep 25 percent grade inclines at a steady 9mph.

With a max range of 62 miles, the battery can be fully recharged in roughly five and a half hours directly from a standard residential wall outlet.

Pricing and Multi-Stage Global Launch

Priced at approximately £24,000 GBP ($32,000 USD), the initial production run in 2027 is allocated exclusively to luxury hospitality partners, including remote destinations like Amangiri in Utah and the private Caribbean island of Mustique.

Consumer orders will follow in 2028, with the company already confirming that a fully enclosed follow-up model is currently in development for colder, winter climates.
