Table of Contents
The Main Hub: Disney+
As of May 2026, Disney+ remains the ultimate archive for all things Lucasfilm.
- May 4: Monday, May 4, is the season finale of ‘Maul: Shadow Lord’. Chapters 9 and 10 drop at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET. If you haven’t been keeping up with Dave Filoni’s latest deep-dive into the underworld, today is your day to binge Chapters 1–8.
- The Mando & Grogu Preview: Disney+ just uploaded a “Special Look” at the upcoming movie. It’s a 4-part featurette including the first four minutes of the film and behind-the-scenes footage with Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver.
The Surprise Move: Star Wars on Hulu
In a rare move for 2026, Disney has licensed a quartet of the franchise’s heavy hitters to Hulu for a limited May window.
- Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
- The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
- Return of the Jedi (1983)
- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)
- The Verdict: STREAM THEM. This is the first time the Original Trilogy has lived on a “non-Disney” branded app in years. It’s perfect for casual fans who want to hit the basics before the holiday.
The ‘90s & ‘00s Vault: Where to Stream the Nostalgia
If you’re looking for that specific Prequel-era energy we discussed today, here is the breakdown:
- The Prequel Trilogy (1999–2005): The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith are Disney+ exclusives.
- The Clone Wars (2008): The film and the complete 7-season series are also parked on Disney+.
- The Non-Canonical Archive: If you’re looking for the weird ’80s and ’90s deep-cuts, check out the “Star Wars Vintage” section on Disney+. It’s the only place to find the Ewok movies and the Droids animated series.
Where Can I Buy/Rent?
If you prefer to “own” your hardware, every Star Wars film is currently available for 4K digital purchase on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Google Play. During the May 4th weekend, most platforms are running a bundle deal for a significant discount.
In case I didn’t say it before, May the Fourth be With You.
