Inside the Velvet Rope: How the NBA is Reimagining the All-Star VIP Experience

In 2026, the NBA All-Star Weekend is no longer just a basketball game; it’s a masterclass in the architecture of access. While the world watches the 75th Anniversary celebration at the Intuit Dome, a different game is being played behind the scenes by the NBA Experiences team. Through NBA Experiences, fans can still take advantage of official fan and hospitality packages that put them at the center of All-Star Weekend — from all-inclusive VIP offerings to flexible, à-la-carte experiences designed to fit a wide range of budgets.

From the legendary Scopa Italian Roots takeover in Venice to the ‘Silver Lining’ luxury of the premium hospitality lounges, the league is moving beyond the standard bleacher seat. We sat down with Evan Bruno of NBA Experiences to look at how the company is turning the ‘Fan Journey’ into a high-stakes luxury destination.

The Interview

Decked Out Magazine: NBA All-Star Weekend has evolved far beyond a single exhibition game. From your perspective, when did it become a full cultural convergence point rather than just a basketball event?

Bruno: I think the real shift became clear when we saw firsthand that fans were no longer treating marquee sporting events as just a singular game experience. We saw more fans arriving early, extending their stays, and actively seeking out ways to engage the game beyond the court.

They weren’t just asking about tickets — they were asking about access and, more importantly, unique experiences. It became less about one game and more about delivering a fully integrated NBA experience — one that blends sport, culture, music, fashion, and access — and gives fans multiple touchpoints to connect with the league beyond the hardwood.

Decked Out Magazine: We’re seeing fans travel for immersive experiences — not just tickets. What’s driving the demand for premium, citywide programming instead of arena-only access?

Bruno: Fans today are experience-driven. They’re not just looking to attend — they want to participate, connect, and create memories that extend beyond a seat in the arena. Travel has become more intentional. If someone is flying across the country or internationally for All-Star, they want access to the full ecosystem — curated hospitality, exclusive events, player proximity, premium accommodations, and insider-level access. It’s about immersion.

Social media also plays a role. Fans want shareable, once-in-a-lifetime moments. Premium, citywide programming delivers that — whether it’s a private meet-and-greet, behind-the-scenes access, or entry into high-profile cultural events happening around the weekend.

Decked Out Magazine: How Does the NBA think about All-Star Weekend as a lifestyle moment — where fashion, music, and hospitality intersect with the sport itself?

Bruno: The NBA Experiences’ approach is to curate programming that reflects how basketball lives in culture. That means pairing premium game access with elevated hospitality environments, exclusive events, and insider moments that tap into the energy that defines the weekend.

We think intentionally about the weekend’s experience— how a guest moves from a private pregame hospitality to the arena, from a meet-and-greet opportunity to a curated evening event in the city. The goal is to create a seamless experience for fans.

Decked Out Magazine: On that note, could you share more about the NBA experiences you’re offering this All-Star Weekend?

Bruno: Fans can still secure their spot at NBA All-Star 2026 through official fan and hospitality packages from NBA Experiences. From all-inclusive VIP access to flexible a-la-carte events, there’s something for every fan and every budget.

NBA Experiences’ packages put fans at the center of the action, combining premium game tickets, exclusive hospitality access, and immersive fan moments across All-Star Weekend.

Each package offers a curated blend of unforgettable benefits, such as:

·         Access to official NBA hospitality lounges with gourmet food, open bars, and live entertainment.

·         Meet-and-greets and photo ops with NBA Legends.

·         Behind-the-scenes moments such as shootarounds and Q&As.

·         Premium seating for marquee events including the All-Star Game and All-Star Saturday.

Fans can choose from a range of tiers — from entry-level packages that elevate your weekend to luxury suites offering the most exclusive NBA access available.

A-La-Carte Experiences — No Game Ticket Required:

For fans who want to soak in the All-Star atmosphere without attending the game, stand-alone experiences are also available for purchase, including:

·         Night with a Legend – Enjoy dinner and storytelling from one of basketball’s greats.

·         Mascot Breakfast – Perfect for families, featuring interactive fun with NBA mascots.

·         Shootaround with an NBA Legend – Step onto the court for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity and shoot-around session.

·         Pregame Premium Hospitality – Access premium food, drinks, and entertainment before tipoff.

These experiences give fans the chance to design their own All-Star — attending one event or building a custom lineup of experiences.

Decked Out Magazine: Premium fan packages used to feel exclusive to corporate audiences. How has that changed, and how is accessibility being expanded in 2026?

Bruno: NBA Experiences has intentionally offered packages so that all types of fans — not just corporate clients — can participate in elevated moments tied to their favorite sports and events.

Fans can choose from tiered ticket packages at multiple price points, from entry-level options with added perks to fully premium experiences that include hospitality and special access. There are also standalone events — like Mascot Breakfast and select hospitality experiences — that don’t require a game ticket, creating additional ways to participate in All-Star.

By offering customizable packages, and optional hotel stays, NBA Experiences makes it easier for traveling fans to build the level of experience that fits their interests and budget — opening premium access to a much wider audience than ever before.

Decked Out Magazine: Looking ahead, do you see All-Star evolving into something even more experiential? Perhaps a global cultural festival?

Bruno: If you look at the success of the NBA Global Games, it’s clear that the appetite for immersive, culturally driven basketball experiences extends far beyond domestic programming.  When the league brings games to international cities, it’s not just about tip-off — it’s about fan festivals, community events, hospitality programming, and local cultural integration. That model has proven incredibly powerful.

From an NBA Experiences standpoint, our role is to design official access points that allow fans — domestic and international — to fully immerse themselves in that energy. As basketball’s global footprint continues to grow, All-Star has lots of potential to expand.
