A crisp still from Michael (2026) starring Jaafar Jackson.

‘Michael’ Expands Global Streaming: Blockbuster Biopic Arrives on Prime Video in Brazil

  • Prime Video Brazil Catalog Drop: Antoine Fuqua’s record-breaking biopic Michael will officially join Prime Video’s streaming catalog in Brazil on October 23, 2026, with no rental or purchase fees required for subscribers.
  • Critically Acclaimed Debut: Jaafar Jackson’s portrayal of his late uncle continues to draw massive awards-season buzz following two years of preparation for his feature debut.
  • Japan’s 100-Stub Campaign: Japanese theaters are keeping theatrical momentum alive with an “Enthusiastic Encore Viewing Campaign” through December 6, 2026, offering exclusive, theater-used memorabilia and mystery grand prizes.

As we head into awards season, Michael, the biggest biopic in history, is continuing to reach new heights and platforms across the globe.

The latest announcement? The film is joining the Prime Video family in Brazil starting October 23, 2026, as part of the company’s regular Prime Video catalog—meaning there won’t be any additional rental or purchasing fees attached to the movie. As for additional international territories, we’ll have to wait and see if there are any updates in that regard, but at the moment, Prime Video has not made any further announcements.

“The heart of MICHAEL is Jaafar Jackson. With no prior acting experience and 2 years of preparing for the role, he delivers one of the most extraordinary debut performances ever witnessed,” writes Decked Out VP Andrew Greene. “Only a real Jackson can play a Jackson, and Jaafar proves that in every scene. It’s been said before, but bears repeating, he doesn’t just imitate his Uncle Michael, he becomes Michael Jackson. He is absolutely sensational, a revelation who depicts the beautifully special, vulnerable, and mega-talented character of Michael Jackson perfectly.”

Japan Keeps the Theatrical Magic Alive

And while the movie continues to expand its global digital footprint, Japan is keeping the theater momentum going through the fall by way of an Enthusiastic Encore Viewing Campaign.

Running through December 6, 2026, the campaign allows superfans to upload their physical or digital ticket stubs via a dedicated submission portal for a chance to win exclusive film memorabilia:

  • Watch 30 Times: Unlocks entry to win a set of four oversized B1-size character posters (approx. 28.7 × 40.6 inches).
  • Watch 50 Times: Unlocks entry for a Giant Theater Banner & Poster Complete Set, featuring actual theater-used promotional materials and a keepsake signed by cast members and producers.
  • Watch 100 Times: Reserved for the most devoted fans who log 100 ticket stubs by December 6, unlocking a secret Mystery Prize that remains unrevealed.

Exciting times are ahead, indeed.
