Vampy, gothic and the whole nine yards, dark academia is a trend that has been catching our attention this fall and winter (thank you, Rory Gilmore). London always brings the pretty in punk streetwear vibes, and that is what currently has us inspired at the moment. Street style is still where the real experimentation happens. From statement boots to unexpected layering, it’s where trends are born, and rules are broken. Whether it’s a brand like A.P.C. or Maison Kitsune, the key to nailing the dark academia trend with a London vibe is being cool, creative and effortlessly fly. There’s also a hint of 1990s fashion inspo within this trend as well, because as we all know, 1990s fashion is always at the forefront. As such, baggy jeans and, of course, the classic leather jacket have all been front and center.

One of my fashion faves right now, as far as an individual who really exhibits that dark academia streetwear London edge, is Jaden Smith. Known for bringing streetwear looks that have an edge, you can look to Smith for inspiration as well (think leather trench coats, chunky boots and sneakers and vintage denim.
