A still from Avengers: Doomsday (2026)

Avengers: Doomsday’ Panel Confirms Peggy Carter’s Return and Doctor Doom’s Earth-828 Connection

  • Hall H Takeover: Marvel Studios debuted exclusive first-look footage from Avengers: Doomsday during its blockbuster San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday night.
  • Multiversal Origins: The footage confirmed that Doctor Doom originates from Earth-828—the home reality of the Fantastic Four—rather than the main Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.
  • Sentinels & Thor Battle: In a major sequence shown to fans, Doctor Doom commands an army of Sentinels while fending off a direct attack from Thor.
  • Peggy Carter Returns: The panel officially confirmed that Hayley Atwell will return to the crossover sequel as Peggy Carter

San Diego Comic-Con’s legendary Hall H just got its first glimpse into Marvel Studios’ next massive crossover event. During Saturday night’s panel, directors Anthony and Joe Russo took the stage alongside the cast of Avengers: Doomsday to showcase exclusive footage (yes, this was apparently different than what the general public saw earlier this week) and confirm key story details for the upcoming blockbuster.

The panel also brought a major cast confirmation, officially revealing that Hayley Atwell is reprising her fan-favorite role as Peggy Carter.

Earth-828 Origins and Sentinels Army

The newly shown footage shed light on how Robert Downey Jr.’s villainous Doctor Doom fits into the broader Multiverse Saga. Rather than hailing from the core MCU timeline, Doom originates from Earth-828, establishing a direct connection to the Fantastic Four’s home reality. Much like Tony Stark, Victor von Doom is portrayed as an unmatched genius with massive technological firepower at his command.

Instead of traditional armor drones, Doom commands an army of Sentinels—giant mechanical enforcers usually associated with hunting mutants in X-Men lore. In the teaser clip, a horde of Sentinels surrounds Doom as he holds his ground in a fierce battle against Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.

The Countdown to December

As the team wrapped up the presentation, co-director Anthony Russo emphasized that production remains hard at work polishing the massive cinematic event.

“We still have work to do to bring you the best possible doomsday we can, so we’re going to go get to work,” Russo told the crowd before exiting the stage.

Avengers: Doomsday officially arrives exclusively in movie theaters on December 18.
