The Synopsis
John Creasy (Abdul-Mateen II) is an elite former Special Forces mercenary struggling with severe PTSD and a self-destructive spiral. When he is persuaded by his old friend Paul Rayburn (Bobby Cannavale) to take a security job in Rio de Janeiro, a devastating high-rise bombing changes everything. Tasked with protecting Rayburn’s daughter, Poe (Billie Boullet), Creasy embarks on a violent, calculated search for the truth that uncovers a conspiracy reaching the highest levels of the Brazilian government.

The Reviews
At the moment, the series has a 66 percent on the Rotten Tomatoes Popcornmeter, with one audience member writing, “This show was so good that I made an account just to leave a review. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of it and really hope it continues to gain the recognition and support it deserves so we can get more seasons in the future.” On the opposite end, another audience member says, “Technically it’s nothing new. Have seen dozens with the similar story. Matin part 2 was good. Same old CIA involvement and one rogue operative. Any one would guess the bad guy from episode one.”
By giving the story seven hours instead of two, Man on Fire allows for a deeper audit of Creasy’s mental state and his bond with Poe. While it honors the legacy of the Denzel era, this version is a standalone designed for the binge-watching era of 2026.
